Looking back over the 2012 summer season, if you can call what we had summer its been pretty jam packed! We’ve completed a large number of National 3 Peaks Challenges, Yorkshire 3 Peaks and guided Mountain days for private groups, actors and corporate business including Lindt and Sony Mobile.
Our clients this year have been baked in the blistering heat on Ben Nevis and scared of the dark on Scafell Pike and crawled up the final steps of Snowdon in gale force winds. Its been an epic 3 peaks year and we’ve loved every minute of it!
This year Yorkshire has provided a beautiful backdrop for our groups completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. Those joining us had the opportunity to take in the spectacular views as well as the knee deep muddy bogs between Pen y Ghent and Ingleborough.
Mountaineerin this year has worked to provide an affordable yet professional service with the aim of introducing others to the mountains of the UK. As a family run business we offer a friendly personal service that is flexible and will support our clients fully every step of the way both on and off the mountain.
In addition to mountain challenges we have also this year supported a local high school with an AS level mountain activities course where 4 young people completed a 2 day, 1 night expedition around the mountains of the Ogwen Valley in Snowdonia. The group were assessed on their skills in the mountains and proved to be highly competent . A great weekend was had by all despite the snow, hail, ice, wind and a spot of rain!
A dark, damp and moody Scafell pike allowed a mid-week ascent of the peak by a large group from Santander. With almost all of the group summiting in poor conditions the Wasdale Head Inn was a welcome sight out of the mist several hours later. All the hard work was well worth the large sum of money the group raised for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
This is just a handful of the activities Mountaineerin have supported this year and we’d like to say Well Done to all who participated and Thank you!
Mountaineerin would also like to thank all those who have supported us this season especially the Mountain Leaders involved battling against the elements to lead our groups to the top! A big THANK YOU to Dave, Ian, Paul, Dave A, Gav, Ken and Stuart!
Moving forward we’re heading into winter offering some winter skills courses and winter guided mountain days.
Bookings are now starting to come in for 2013 Yorkshire and National 3 Peaks and its looking like its going to be a great year! If you fancy taking on a mountain challenge or enjoying a guided mountain day get in touch! We’d love to meet you!
